3. User Accounts
To submit receipts or contribute to the platform, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying FairTab immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Providing accurate and truthful information during registration
4. User Submissions
By submitting a receipt or restaurant information to FairTab, you represent and warrant that:
- The information you submit is accurate and truthful to the best of your knowledge
- You are the person who received the receipt or have authorization to submit it
- The receipt is from a real dining experience and has not been altered or falsified
- You grant FairTab a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and process the submitted content for the purpose of operating the Service
FairTab reserves the right to reject, remove, or modify any submission that violates these terms or that our moderation team determines to be inaccurate, fraudulent, or otherwise inappropriate.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated receipt information
- Attempt to manipulate restaurant scores through fraudulent submissions
- Use the Service to defame, harass, or harm any restaurant or individual
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute FairTab data without written permission
- Attempt to circumvent the moderation or review systems
- Use automated bots or scripts to submit data or interact with the Service
- Submit receipts belonging to others without authorization
6. Accuracy of Information
FairTab strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information, but we make no warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any restaurant data on the platform. Restaurant fee practices can change, and scores are based on community submissions. FairTab is not responsible for decisions made based on information displayed on the platform.
7. Intellectual Property
The FairTab name, logo, platform design, and proprietary scoring methodology are the exclusive intellectual property of FairTab. The "FairTab" name and branding are protected under applicable trademark law. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or imitation of FairTab's branding or platform is strictly prohibited.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FairTab does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FairTab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if FairTab has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
FairTab reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

3. Receipt Images
Receipt images you upload are stored securely and used solely for the purpose of verifying fee and tip information. Images are reviewed by our automated OCR system and, in some cases, by human moderators to ensure accuracy. Receipt images are not shared publicly and are accessible only to FairTab staff and administrators.
We recommend that you redact or cover any sensitive personal information on receipts (such as full card numbers or signatures) before uploading.

- Service providers: We use Supabase for database and storage, and Google Cloud Vision for OCR processing. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

- Business transfers: If FairTab is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Public Information
The following information may be displayed publicly on FairTab:

Your name, email address, and individual receipt submissions are never displayed publicly.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Receipt submissions and associated data are retained to maintain the integrity of restaurant scores. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
